If it's in a book....

If there's a pregnancy symptom in a book, I have it!  The latest one...PUPPPs. And no, it's not related to dogs. I know many of you are wondering if you need to go to Babies R Us or Petsmart now LOL!

It's basically a rash that happens in the last trimester of pregnancy that starts on your stomach but can spread to your arms and legs as well.  Basically its a reaction to the fetal DNA...so I'm allergic to my own baby! It's not harmful to baby or me, just REALLY annoying. I have a mild case now so we're just treating with some Benedryl at night and cortisone cream during the day. Unfortunately, this rash won't go away until after delivery so I'm stuck with this for the next 10 weeks!

On another note, we finally found a sitter! YAY! The most stressful thing is done. She's a very nice lady, she has kids around my age and lives literally around the corner. She has a beautiful home and is registered with the State of Ohio.

Not much else is going on...I'm getting lots of kicks, they're under the ribs now and starting to hurt. They're not cute little taps anymore.  That means the little baby is growing and getting strong! We're getting anxious and excited to meet this little person! We have our hospital tour scheduled for Sunday and our Baby Basics class scheduled for March 6th. I'm starting to get nervous about the actual delivery...I watch too much tv and see all these things that might or might not happen!

Nothing new

I realized it's been a while since I posted.  Nothing new is going on really...I'm 29 weeks today! 77 days to go! It's counting down!  I'm on my bi-weekly appointments now. I'm probably gonna start getting tired of my doctor soon :-)

I had lots of questions for her around delivery and what that's gonna look like. We also signed up for baby basics class cause I'm not sure I even know how to change a diaper!

The baby shower is coming up March 19th! I'm so excited cause friends and family from out of town will be coming! Finally, some people can see my hood :-)

No news is good news

Well, I haven't heard from the doctor at all last week so I'm going to assume that my glucose and iron test went well. I have another doctor appointment on Friday this week and I'll be every two weeks for the next 8 weeks. After that, I go weekly until delivery!

The baby has really been doing some aerobics in the womb lately...the kicks have been getting stronger and stronger. I'm also starting to get more uncomfortable. I don't sleep very well anymore and even sitting begins to get uncomfortable after a while. I just remember that this is all temporary....

We've scheduled our hospital tour for the end of the month and also finished the baby registry.  Still on the hunt for childcare but we're getting closer to finding someone.

I went shopping with Sara last night and we picked out a cute "coming home" outfit for the baby!

  

We also saw the funniest shirt, I almost got it but had to restrain! For those that know me, I'm always attached to my ipod so this shirt was more than fitting.

 

In other news, Delan finally filed his papers with the state of Ohio to get his name changed...yay! The goal is to get this done before the baby comes so we'll all have the same last name eventually :-)

And we wait

Finally had my doctor appointment yesterday...I had to drink some gross orange stuff that tasted like flat orange soda.  It was so sweet, I thought I was gonna be sick! Delan went with me to the appt and everything was fine. Baby's heart rate was kinda fast because of the sugar high! Everything is measuring appropriately.  It's getting closer and I'm heading into my third trimester! My doctor appointments are going to every two weeks now!

I had to get my blood drawn to check my iron levels and glucose tolerance...the nurse had to stick me 3 times before they got any blood! That was pretty traumatizing for me! I should get the results of my test in a few days. No news is good news, so lets keep our fingers crossed!

Ah...the storms

Well we've had some crazy weather the past two days! I was supposed to go the doctor and get my glucose screening and my Rhogam shot, but it got rescheduled to Friday. I'm not looking forward to drinking the glucose drink. I heard it's so sweet, it can make you sick after a while!  We had some freezing rain/sleet/snow/rain/back to freezing rain to 50mph wind...it was just crazy! Fortunately, we didn't lose any power last night from the ice or wind.  It was quite a sight to see Gracie navigating on the ice, not quite sure why she couldn't get any traction LOL!

On a less happy note: I have another cold or something...I've been battling cold/sinus issues since November! I hope this is the last one! I'm going to move into a bubble the remainder of the pregnancy so I don't get sick again!

Guess I'll post again after the dr. appt!

Baby's room

So we've been working hard the last few weekends on the baby's room...it's finally done (at least the painting part). We still need to get a dresser for the room and maybe a rocker but everything is good to go! 

We're starting to get excited and can't wait to meet our new addition!!!

Of course Gracie had to be in the picture. She was checking out the new stuff!

A little cubby for the baby's books and toys. Right now, it's just holding all baby stuff until we get a dresser!

Week 24!

Today, I'm 24 weeks! This is a milestone week because it's the point where the baby is fully formed and has a chance of survival outside of the womb (with assistance of course). I def don't want the baby out this early by any means but it just gives a little bit more comfort that we've gotten this far!

 

Also, the nursery is almost done! Spent a few days getting high on paint fumes (with the doctors approval of course) and it's coming along. We have a few more touches but you can definitely see the progress!

I'll be excited when we get the bedding in the crib!

Delan actually felt a true kick the other day...he laid his head on my stomach and the baby kicked him him the ear! LOL. We also settled on a wedding date :-D 9/22/12! Gives us time to get through the baby's first year and plan for a decent wedding.

Almost 23!

I'm almost 23 weeks now and some cool stuff has happened!

First, just went back to work on Tuesday from the long Christmas break. What a challenge it was to get back into the swing of things!  I was in a meeting on Wednesday and I noticed my little salsa dancer was practicing a few moves...A LOT. So I started to watch my tummy and I saw it move from a kick/punch! It was very cool! I've been noticing that more and more since then.

I had a doctor appointment on Friday and everything is looking great! My uterus is measuring on target, I've gained 18 lbs <sad face> and I have one more appointment before I start going bi-weekly! At my next appointment, I get to have all kind of things done! I have my glucose screening for gestational diabetes as well as a Rhogam shot because my blood type is O-. This shot helps protect the baby and me in the event our blood mixes during delivery because if the baby has a positive blood type, my body will freak out.

Other than that, everything is pretty normal...hoping to get the nursery finished by next weekend.  It's already taped up, we just need to actually start painting! (which I hope to start today since it's gross out and a great day for indoor activity). 

Daycare...UGH. We are trying figure out what we're going to do for daycare. I can't believe how expensive it is but we'll figure it out.  I'm also trying to slyly monitor the baby shower plans that Mom and Sara are conjuring up...which will be either the end of March or early April, so keep an eye out for that.

In other news, we're also thinking about the WEDDING!! We decided to hold off until 2012, probably the fall, so we only have to focus on one thing at a time. Plus, I want to be able to plan it and have something a little decent. It'll probably be something small with family and close friends. Look out for more details to come and our theknot.com website as we begin planning!

Happy New Year!!!

So much has happened in 2010 that I have to be thankful for...I started off the year with a new job, had a few trials and tribulations in the middle, and ended the year with the news of our little miracle and a RING!

Delan proposed last night shortly before we left to go over his mom's house for NYE...it was so perfect!

 

I also got a beautiful gift from Sara for the baby that I forgot to post!

Now it's back to reality...I have my monthly doctor appt Friday next week and I go back to work on Tuesday...I hope I remember how to drive in HAHA!

21 Weeks

I'm 21 weeks today! 19 more to go! We started picking out paint colors. I bought a few samples this morning and I hope we can decide on a color so that I can paint the room this week while I'm off of work. 

Christmas was great! We got to see family and friends and eat good food! I kinda feel like my stomach fluctuates in size but here is this weeks belly picture:

Halfway there!

Well...we've finally reached the halfway point! I'm 20 weeks today, only 20 more to go :-) My next Dr. Appt isn't until Jan 7th. Nothing super interesting going on though other than I'm still growing everywhere. We have started our search for daycare options...WOW it's expensive! Glad I started the search early too.

We've also been working on the registry and will probably start looking at birthing classes soon. So much to do, so little time! I was really in the Christmas spirit earlier this month but now I'm over it and ready to move on to January already!

Darn it!

I was at work today and some of the girls I work with brought me a gift today...which they didn't have to go. I open it up and here's what was inside:

 

Needless to say, I cried...at work...in front of everyone! That was so sweet and they didn't have to do that! Makes me even more excited to meet this little person!  Thanks Candice, Jamie and Lisa!
