Something cool
I was doing my nightly hanging out with baby and listening with my fetal monitor and something very cool happened! I can hear when the baby is moving around in there and I noticed when I moved or pushed on my stomach, the baby responds by moving! So, we have a new game to play now, at least until there isn't anymore room to swim laps in there!
Heartbeat!
I think I figured out a way to post the heartbeat on here. You'll have to excuse the noise in the beginning...it's me trying to find it again cause the little bugger moves so much! About 15 secs in, you can hear it faintly and then it gets much louder!

16 Weeks!
Tomorrow, I will be 16 weeks. Time seems to have flown by very slowly haha!
My next appt is Dec 6th, which I was forced to schedule it that day to accommodate my mother's schedule since she will be frolicking in the Bahamas the week before. This is the big ultrasound where they take measurements and ensure the baby is growing properly etc. We could find out the gender here but it's going to be a surprise!
My planning self has also developed a project plan for this whole pregnancy to help us figure out what we need to do when and make sure we're as prepared as we can be.
About 2 weeks ago, I've noticed a twitching going on in my stomach. I feel it about once a day or once every other day. Come to find out, it's the baby moving! I'm surprised I felt it this early!
I also bought a fetal doppler where we can listen to the baby's heartbeat whenever we want. Last week, I went to take a listen and the baby kicked right where I placed the monitor! It was very cool!
Took my first "belly" picture. Starting to look a little pregnant now and not just fat!
Unless something fantasmic happens in the next couple of weeks, I probably won't post anything new until after the next dr. appt.

First 16 weeks...
Here's a quick recap of what's happened the last 16 weeks and what's coming up!
September 4th: My 27th birthday. Found out I was pregnant today! Got in the shower and had tender breasts, so after I had birthday brunch with mom and my two aunts, I decided to stop and take a test. OMG it's positive (as were the 8 other tests afterward)!
Big Fat Pregnant |
October 8: Had our first real doctor appt and ultrasound to confirm the age of the baby and due date. Our original due date was May 4th but the size of the baby measured a little smaller than she expected, so I got pushed out to May 9th :-(. Everything looked great and baby had a nice strong heartbeat. Too soon to tell the sex of the baby but we decided we're not going to find out! You don't get too many surprises in life anymore these days.
November 5: Had another doctor appt. Heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time! That was exciting to know it's still in there! Also battling every symptom there is in the book...morning sickness (all day sickness), headaches, sore breasts, super fatigue. I've tried to make sure I still go to the gym but it's really hard when I want to just park it on the couch after work. Also, Gracie is on the fritz. She knows something is up and she's been acting out to let me know how she feels about it!
Better Late than never!
Since we have so many friends and family all over the country, we thought we'd start a blog to keep folks updated on the pregnancy, delivery and aftermath (I mean, the baby lol). I will be 16 weeks tomorrow (almost 4 months), so it's a little late but better late than never!
I also thought this would be a nice way to keep track and memories of the exciting things going on the next 6 months!
My next post, I'll recap the last 16 weeks and share what's coming up!
